Search the code, not the marketing name
Write down the three-letter airport code from each flight result. Then locate the terminal on a map with your accommodation. This prevents confusion between a city's main airport, a regional alternative and an airport named for the wider area.
Paris-Beauvais illustrates why this matters: its official ground-transport information describes shuttle connections into the Paris region. The word Paris in the airport name does not mean you emerge beside the central sights. The useful comparison is the entire route from terminal to lodging.
Follow the transfer beyond its headline stop
An airport coach may finish at a suburban interchange rather than the place where you intend to stay. Add the onward metro, bus or walk, and examine the connection with luggage. A shuttle's journey time is not the time at which you will unlock your hotel room.
Check the terminal you use and the exact pickup point. A transfer between terminals, an off-site coach stop or a long indoor passage can add effort before the advertised journey begins. Use the airport's own maps rather than assuming every transport mode leaves from the same arrivals door.
Compare usable hours at the destination
Two flights arriving an hour apart may produce a much larger difference in hotel arrival time. Frequency, border formalities, baggage collection and road congestion all matter. Look at the scheduled options and leave room for uncertainty instead of choosing a single optimistic minute.
For a short break, arriving far outside the city late at night may use the evening you hoped to spend there. On departure, an early flight from the same airport can require a taxi or another hotel night. Compare both directions before deciding that the lower airfare is the cheaper trip.
Price the whole arrangement
Add transfers for every traveler, luggage charges where relevant and any extra lodging. Then decide whether the saving justifies the additional travel. A distant airport can be a good choice when the route aligns with your plans; it is simply a different product.
Save the current operator page rather than copying a fare from an old blog. Airport shuttle stops and service patterns change. The airport code remains a dependable starting point, while the live route details need checking for your actual dates.
