An Old Town day with a green edge
Begin around the main market square and choose a few streets to explore before the busiest part of the day. The surrounding Planty park provides a useful change of setting when the center feels crowded. Use a section of the green ring rather than assuming you must complete it as a separate attraction.
Move south toward Wawel with a meal break before any booked visit. The hill contains distinct historic and cultural spaces; check the official admission arrangement for the part you want to see. Do not assume one ticket or a quick walk through the area covers every interior.
If the afternoon remains comfortable, finish with a short river-side segment and return toward your base. In poor weather, replace that walk with more time in a chosen indoor collection rather than adding a distant trip. Leave the evening flexible enough for dinner without another strict arrival time.
Kazimierz deserves more than a food stop
Use the second morning for Kazimierz's streets and historic context. Choose an appropriate museum or heritage visit if you want to learn about the area's Jewish history, and check its own calendar and visitor requirements. A neighborhood's restaurants and nightlife do not replace the responsibility to approach its religious and historical sites respectfully.
Keep the route compact around the places you have chosen. If you continue across the river to Podgórze, make that a deliberate extension and account for any museum reservation there. It is easy to turn a relaxed morning into a succession of commitments spread across both banks.
This plan intentionally omits major excursions outside Krakow. Memorial sites in particular deserve preparation and sufficient time, not a rushed appearance on a checklist. If an excursion is the main reason for your visit, give it a full place in the itinerary and reduce the city program accordingly. Two days cannot comfortably hold every important experience in the region, and choosing is more respectful than racing.
